REaCH began with Ann Fruhling and the Nebraska University Transportation Center to protect truckers, transportation workers, first responders, and hazardous-material professionals during spills.
The project applied IT and IoT concepts to hazardous-material monitoring and improved alerting for response teams. Requirements research with stakeholders documented existing processes, technology, and safety protocols to identify where new systems could help.
